PAF plane crashes in air, 2 officials martyred

PHHALIA: Two officers of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) were killed as a result of a plane crash here on Thursday – ARY News reports.

According to details, Wing Commander Jamal Akber Afridi and Flying Officer Saad Suleman were on a routine flight from Sargodha. After a few minutes when the plane reached near Farrukh Pur Bhattian area of Phhalia, suddenly the engine caught fire and the plane exploded in the air.

The wreckage of the plane fell on an area of almost 20 acres, whilst both the PAF personnel were martyred.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122, Assistant Commissioner Phhalia Zameer Hussain, DSP Lal Muhammad Khokhar reached the spot along with a heavy contingent of police and kicked of relief operation.
