Pak-India DGMOs meet concludes, joint release issued
WAGAH: Pak-India Directors General Military Operations (DGMOs) have decided to inform each other regarding the citizens crossing border mistakenly from both sides, whereas it was also decided that the DGMOs hot-line contacts will be made further effective – ARY News reports.
The DGMOs during the meet discussed the issues pertaining to border security after which a joint release was issued on Tuesday. Major General Amir Riaz represented Pakistan during the meet, whereas Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia was there from the Indian side.
Both the officials agreed upon maintaining ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC), the DGMOs also decided to further strengthen hot-line contacts and to make them result oriented, so that the trust building mechanism could be maintained.
The DGMOs also decided that a flag meeting of the Brigadier Commanders will soon be held for the sake of peace and security at the border.
The joint release further mentioned that measures will be taken to insure speedy return of the people from both sides crossing border by mistake.
