The statement was made by Ahsan as he was addressing a seminar organized by South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA).

The PPP leader said that it would be premature to blame India for the attack on Charsadda’s Bacha Khan University. He also said that wars always created problems for a country.

“Kashmir issue was not resolved despite the 1965 Pak-India War, Kargil War and the tragedy of East Pakistan in 1971”, Ahsan said.

The PPP leader said that terrorism spread like a cancer in Pakistan.

Former foreign minister Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri said that Pakistan and India have no other option except to resolve the Kashmir issue via dialogue.

“Whenever there are talks to be held on Kashmir, a terrorist incident takes place which derails the negotiation process. This seems like a part of a script”, Kasuri said.
