ABU DHABI: Pakistan and Vietnam on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to cooperation in public sector auditing.

The MoU was signed by Auditor General of Pakistan Rana Assad Amin, and Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Dr. Ho Duc Phoc, during the sidelines of the International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions.

The heads of the two Supreme Audit Institutions agreed to benefit from each other’s experience through mutual study visits, cooperative audits, peer reviews and capacity building programmes.

AGP Rana Assad Amin said that the signing of the formal MoU will further enhance the existing relations with the State Audit Office of Vietnam and will open new areas of cooperation between the two SAIs.

The signing of MoU with SAI Vietnam is continuation of the effort of Office of the Auditor General of Pakistan (OAGP) to formalise its bilateral relations with different SAIs in the region and across the globe.

The OAGP has also signed MoUs with SAI Iran and Turkey, while negotiations are underway to sign MoUs with the Supreme Audit Institutions of Tajikistan, Indonesia, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
