Pakistan armed forces contingent takes part in China's Victory Day parade

The contingent was imparted special training for the parade.

China’s V-Day parade began this morning with 70 gun salutes to honour 70th anniversary of China’s World War-II victory.

Addressing the opening ceremony at Beijing Tian’anmen Square, Chinese President Xi Jinping said China will cut the number of military troops by 0.3 million.

President Xi Jinping reviewed the troops on Chang’an Avenue for V-Day parade. President Mamnoon Hussain is representing Pakistan in the event.

 

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed the President Mamnoon Hussain and other World Leaders on their arrival this morning.

More than 30 heads of states and governments are also attending the parade.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Presidents of Russia and South Korea are also participating in the event.

Nearly one thousand foreign troops from seventeen countries are participating in the parade. Among them Pakistan, Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, and Russia each have dispatched a seventy five-member formation to march in the parade.
