Pakistan Army clear 640 sq km of Shawal area off terrorists
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that the battle to clear the remaining areas along the Pak-Afghan border is still taking place.
ISPR stated that 252 terrorists were killed in the last stages of the Shawal Operation whereas 160 were wounded.
ISPR added that eight Pakistan Army soldiers were killed and 49 others were injured in the line of duty.
The military operation against the terrorists in North Waziristan was launched in June 2014 and the terrorist hubs were destroyed in the last stage of the operation in February 2016.
ISPR added that 37,012 families have managed to return to their homes in North Waziristan whereas the writ of the government has been restored in all areas especially the remote places in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
