Pakistan Army makes reshuffle in top hierarchy

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Friday appointed Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza as the Chief of General Staff in a major reshuffle in the army hierarchy, as reported by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The media wing of the armed forces notified that General Raza has replaced Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar who has been appointed as Commander Rawalpindi Corps (10th Corps).

Furthermore, ISPR announced on its website that Lieutenant General Muhammad Naeem Ashraf has been appointed Commander Multan Corps, Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz has been posted as Commander Karachi Corps (5th Corps), Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza has been posted as the inspector general for communications and information technology and Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar as the chairman of the Heavy Industries Taxila.

It is pertinent to mention here that previously Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz was the inspector general of communications and information technology, whereas Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza was serving as Corps Commander of Karachi.

Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was the Chief of General Staff and Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar was Corps Commander of Multan before the announcement of the new postings.
