Army stands with victims of terrorism, fire on occasion of Eid: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday said Pakistan Army stood shoulder to shoulder with victims of terrorism and fire incident on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

At least 138 people were killed and more than 150 injured when an oil tanker overturned due to ‘over speeding’ on National Highway near Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bahawalpur on Sunday morning.

The media wing of military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the Army chief shares grief of bereaved fellow Pakistanis on Eid.

Shawwal moon has been sighted in Pakistan today and Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed on Monday across the country.

The COAS  felicitated the nation in a humble way and said, “In Sha Allah we will overcome all challenges by staying united and steadfast as a nation. Eid Mubarak.”

Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor in a message said, “Eid Mubarak to all howsoever somber. May Allah continue His blessings upon us, Aameen.”
