Pakistan has not changed its policy on Syria, clarifies Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan has not changed its foreign policy regarding Syria and it completely respects the sovereignty of Syria – ARY News reports.

Giving a policy statement at the floor of the National Assembly, Sartaj Aziz said that the joint release on the occasion of Saudi Crown Prince's visit here was mistaken, Pakistan is a responsible state, both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had urged to resolve Syrian Issue according to Geneva agreement.

He mentioned that Pakistan has not moved from its stance on Syria, nor it is selling its arms to be used there.

Sartaj said that the weapons are being sold to Saudi Arabia according to prescribed international law for arms selling. He told that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have cordial ties and both the states have agreed upon extending bilateral defence cooperation.

The Foreign Advisor clarified that Pakistan has not at all changed its foreign policy under the pressure of Saudi Arabia.
