Pakistan clinch third spot in Street Child World Cup

RIO DE JANEIRO:  Pakistan clinched the third place in the Street Child World Cup as they defeated United States of America on penalty kicks here in Rio de Janeiro, ARY News reports on Monday.

Pakistan took the lead in the first half but the United States bounced back in the game and equalised the scoreline. The Pakistani side again managed to take the lead but the United States scored their second goal to end the 90 minute mark at 2-2.

The game went on to the penalty kicks when both sides did not manage to net the ball into the six yard box in the extra time.

Pakistani goal keeper Sameer Ahmed saved two shots that helped the side win the third place in the tournament.

Pakistan had defeated India, United States and Phillipines but lost to Burundi in the semi-finals of the Street Child World Cup.
