RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has commenced the fencing of the entire border with Afghanistan, announced the Inter Services Public Relation on Tuesday.
The measured have been taken to improve along the Pak-Afghan border in line with directives of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
During the first phase, high filtration prone areas such as Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber Agency are being fenced. The remain border areas including Balochistan will be fenced in the second phase.
Pakistan Army and Frontier Constabulary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa besides fences are also constructing new border posts to improve surveillance and defense.
“A secure border area is common interest of both countries, and a well coordinated border security mechanism is essential for enduring peace and stability,” said the ISPR.
