ISLAMABAD: Government of Pakistan has expressed grave concern at reports of the second ballistic missile attack on the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ARY News reported.

A statement released by foreign ministry says Pakistan strongly condemns the attack and commends the timely action by Saudi forces to destroy the missile preventing any loss of lives.

“It reiterates its full support and solidarity with the government and brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It voices its condemnation of any threats aimed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” reads the statement.

Pakistan also demanded the anti-government forces in Yemen to desist from attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Yemen’s Huthis said Thursday they fired a ballistic missile at Saudi Arabia and hit a military target, in the second such attack this month.

“We confirm the success of our ballistic missile trial, which hit its military target inside Saudi Arabia,” a Huthi-run television said.

The Saudi military later claimed that it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Yemen.

The Saudi Press Agency, quoting Colonel Turki al-Maliki, the official spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition fighting the war in Yemen, said the missile was headed towards the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait on its southwestern border.
