Pakistan Day Parade: Chinese, Turkish troops to take part in full dress rehearsal

ISLAMABAD: Chinese and Turkish troops to take part in full dress rehearsal of Pakistan Day parade today here, ARY News reported.

City traffic police Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced alternative routes for the traffic today.

All kinds of traffic will be suspended for Faizabad till 2:00 PM while traffic coming from Abbottabad via Barian and Muzaffarabad will be stopped at Lower Topa during the event, concerned authorities said.

The Pakistan Day is celebrated each year by the nation on March 23 to commemorate the historic Lahore resolution that was passed on the same day in 1940, calling for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. An important development in the politics of that era, the Pakistan Resolution (as it became known subsequently) was an important step towards the creation of Pakistan.
