Pakistan defeats Sri Lanka in 4th ODI, clinches series

ABU DHABI: Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI by 8 wickets, clinching the series after today’s victory – ARY News reports.

Muhammad Hafeez's magnificent century played an important role for Pakistan aiding it get closer to the victory. He scored a total of 113 runs, making a brilliant 407 runs in 4 matches. Sohaib Maqsood scored 46 and Ahmed Shehzad made 44 runs.

From the bowling side, Saeed Ajmal returned 4 Sri Lankan batsmen to pavilion, while Umer Gul achieved 3 wickets.

Moreover, young Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan also bowled out 2 Sri Lankan batsmen.

Earlier in the first innings, Sri Lanka scored 225 runs. Ashan Prayanjan scored 74, while Kumara Sangakara made 51 runs. Both the players tried their best to take out Sri Lanka from a difficult situation, yet failed in doing so.

The 5th ODI of the series will be held on Friday.
