Pakistan drop down to fifth spot in Test ranking

DUBAI: Pakistan have dropped down to fifth place after being crushed by Australia in the three-match Test series by 3-0.

Australia defeated Pakistan by 220 runs in the third Test of the series that cost Misbah Ul Haq led side five points in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Team Ranking.

It was Pakistan’s sixth consecutive loss, they lost the last Test against West Indies and then lost to New Zealand by 2-0 followed by a 3-0 defeat by the hands of Australia.

Pakistan, who occupied the top spot in the Test ranking for a brief period of time after levelling the four-match Test series against England in their home ground, is one point ahead of sixth ranked New Zealand.

Australia are ranked on the second spot with 109 points, they are 11 points behind the top ranked India, which have 120 points.

South Africa are ranked at third spot with 102 points followed by England with 101 points under their belt.
