The country no more requires the traditional police officers, he said while addressing the police officers’ passing out parade in Islamabad.

The minister said Pakistan was facing challenges owing to security reasons.

Protection of citizens and their lives is the core and utmost responsibility of police force, he underlined.

He said the officers being passed out after training should become honest, fair and real protectors in discharging their responsibilities.

He expressed disappointment that a difference between ‘prohibited’ and ‘recommended’ do’s, ‘truth’ and ‘lie’ was wearing thin.

He paid tribute to the security forces who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
