Pakistan engaged to bring peace and stability in the region: COAS

LONDON: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan is positively engaged to bring about peace and stability in the region including Afghanistan.

The Army Chief during an official tour of the United Kingdom addressed UK think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), and shared on the geo-political environment and security challenges.

COAS also highlighted about the role of Pakistan and Pakistan Army towards peace and stability. He also highlighted prospects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) towards economic development of the region.

The forum appreciated his candid expression and acknowledged Pakistan Army’s contributions towards peace and stability.

Role of overseas Pakistani appreciated

Earlier, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Pakistan High Commission in London and interacted with the UK based Pakistani community.

Gen Bajwa apprised them about security environment in Pakistan and achievements in efforts against terrorism and militancy and the projected results.

He hailed the role of oversees Pakistanis towards progress of Pakistan and assured them that Pakistan Army shall perform its due role towards security of Pakistan.

The Pakistani community expressed pride in role and contributions of Pakistan Army towards the well being of the country.
