KARACHI: Pakistan on Sunday released 60 Indian prisoners as a goodwill gesture, ARY News reported.
The released captives have been transported to the Cantt Station from Landhi Jail, from where they will leave for Lahore through train. They would be handed over to Indian officials at Wagah Border.
Those freed by Pakistan include 55 fishermen.
The Indian inmates thanked the Pakistan government and said they faced no difficulty in jail.
On April 26, another Pakistani national had died while in Indian custody, a spokes person of Fishermen’s Co-operative Society had told.
The spokesperson had said that a Pakistani fisherman, Muhammad Sohail died in an Indian jail and added that he was the fourth Pakistani, who died in Indian custody during a short span of one month.

He had said,” Muhammad Sohail went for fishing over two years ago and was taken into custody by Indian forces on October 2, 2016 over mistakenly entering into Indian waters.”
The spokesperson had said that reasons of his death were not known yet and added that it would take three to four days to bring his body back to Pakistan.
He had said that Muhammad Sohail was a resident of Muhammadi Colony in Karachi. The spokesperson had further said that at least 108 Pakistani fishermen were still imprisoned in different jails of India.
