Pakistan High Commission postpones reception for Geeta in wake of earthquake

NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commission in India has postponed the reception for Indian girl Geeta who returned to the country after more than a decade in wake of the earthquake which struck the country on Monday, ARY News reports.

Geeta was stuck in Pakistan ever since she wandered over one of the world’s most militarized borders from India more than 10 years ago and was living in Pakistan under the care of the country’s largest welfare organisation, the Edhi Foundation.

It should be noted that Geeta returned to India on Monday morning.

According to Indian media, Pakistan High Commission’s spokesperson Manzoor Ali Memon said that the ceremony has been postponed in wake of the disaster, which has claimed at least 200 lives in Pakistan.
