Pakistan hosts nuclear security training moot

The meeting was held for the first time outside the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters.

NSSC regularly contributes to global efforts for enhancing nuclear security capacity building through an effective and collaborative mechanism.

The officials from 29 countries including China, Russia, UK, USA and other countries. The officials of the World Institute of Nuclear Security and IAEA also attended in the event.

Pakistan has evolved effective nuclear security architecture over the years and has developed substantial capacity for the nuclear security training, the statement said.

Pakistan’s Centre of Excellence for Nuclear Security is a state of the art institution, which imparts training in various nuclear security related disciplines to national and international participants in collaboration with the National Institute of Safety and Security (NISAS) and Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS).

The participants of the moot visited these institutes and appreciated Pakistan’s training standards and best practices in the nuclear security domain. During the meeting, the participants shared their experience, knowledge and practices in the field of nuclear security for mutual benefit.
