Pakistan, Iran ink MoUs for various fields

The MoUs were signed at a ceremony in Islamabad. The MoUs are related to establishment of Joint Investment Committee, cooperation between SMEDA and Iran’s Small Industries, and establishment of sister port relationship between the ports of Karachi and Chabahar.

Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar was also present during the meeting.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan’s relations with Iran are strengthening. He said bilateral cooperation in economy, culture, science and technology is improving. He said there are vast opportunities of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries.

Earlier, the Iranian Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ali Tayyebnia called on Prime Minster in the capital.

Iranian Minister is visiting Pakistan to attend the 19th session of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission, being held in Islamabad.
