Pakistan issued 55,000 visas to Chinese businessmen, workers in 2018
Fifty-five thousand Chinese businessmen and workers were issued visas by Pakistan Embassy in Beijing and its four consulates, last year in 2018, Radio Pakistan reported.
This was stated by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid, while speaking at the inauguration of new visa system by Prime Minister Imran Khan for five countries, including China.
Calling the new visa regime “an important initiative”, Khalid said that it would attract more tourists and businessmen from across the world.
He expressed hopes that the number of Chinese tourists would further increase in months to come.
“Growing number of Chinese tourists is a manifestation of the fact that relations between the two countries are strengthening at a faster pace, the envoy said.
Prime Minister Khan, while inaugurating Pakistan’s online visa regime for foreign nationals, said people coming to Pakistan from the United Kingdom loved the country’s tourist destinations. “We have awe-inspiring tourist destinations like Dir, Hunza and Gilgit [Baltistan] which are more [beautiful] than Switzerland]”.
He stated that issuing of online visa was a significant step towards bringing real change as it would open the country to the outside world.
