Pakistan keen to fortify relations with Turkey in diverse fields: PM Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday said Pakistan wanted to further strengthen relations with Turkey in diverse fields.

“Both the countries have exemplary friendly ties,” he said while addressing a joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim in Istanbul.

The PM lauded Turkey’s contribution to the socio-economic development of Pakistan.

Binali Yildirim said that his country wanted to further promote bilateral relations with Pakistan in all fields including the economy.

He said Pakistan and Turkey had always supported each other in the hour of need.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Pakistan and Turkey were victims of terrorism. He said both the countries had rendered unmatched sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

“Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used to harm Turkey’s interests,” he said.

He said foes of Turkey were our foes and friends of Istanbul were friends of Islamabad.

Abbasi said Pakistan-Turkey relationship had transformed into a strategic partnership.
