SHARJAH: Pakistan Under-19 cricket team faced a defeat in the final of Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium against arch rivals India on Saturday, ARY News reported.
Pakistan opted to field first after winning the toss. India responded promptly posting a huge target of 315. Indian skipper Vijay Zol(100) and Sanju Samson(100) posted well versed centuries to help India Under-19 manage a gigantic total of 314-8 in the final of ACC Under-19s Asia Cup.
Both of the batsmen provided their team a stand of 180 runs for the third wicket.
Zia-ul-Haq, Zafar Gohar and off spinner Karamat Ali took 2 wickets each.
While chasing 315 runs, Pakistan failed to maintain the required run rate and remained 40 runs short.
Captain of Pakistan U-19s Sami Aslam once again played wonderfully and scored 87 runs. Kamran Ghulam remained unbeaten at 102.
This was the first defeat for green shirts in the event. Earlier, Pakistan U-19 cricket team in the Group match have pulled off a two wickets win against India.
