TOP NEWS

DUBAI: Sri Lanka batting first in the second Twenty20 at Dubai International Stadium scored 211 runs runs at the loss of three wickets, ARY News reported.
Sri Lankan opening pair outclassed Pakistan’s bowling attack with a 100 runs opening stand in 12 overs.

Kusal Perera scored his career best 84 runs and got run out at the last ball of the match while Tilkaratne Dilshan remained 2 runs short of his half century and got out off Saeed Ajmal.

Late hitting of Sri Lankan veteran Kumara Sanagkarra stretched the score to past 200. He made 44 off just 21 balls.

Earlier,Captain of national cricket team Mohammad Hafeez after winning the toss decided to bowl first, second consecutive time in the series, on the same pitch on which his side chased down 146 on December 11.

Dew on the ball hindered Sri Lanka’s bowlers late in the first match, and had he won the toss, Dinesh Chandimal said he would have chosen to bowl first.

Pakistan is playing with an unchanged team while Sri Lanka has made one change, replacing Ajantha Mendis with Legspinning allrounder Seekkuge Prasanna.

The match is of great importance for Pakistan as if they win, they become the No. 1 ranked Twenty20 side in the world, sending Sri Lanka to second alongside India and South Africa.
