Pakistan needs 260 runs to win third ODI

ABU DHABI: South Africa has scored 259 runs in the third ODI against Pakistan while batting first at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

South Africa had lost Hashim Amla in 5th over , who was back in South African playing eleven after spending the first two matches out awaiting the birth of his second child but did not make much of an impact.

Q de Kock and Faf du Plessis guided the team with the stand of 77 runs, keeping the run rate off the mark to five runs per over.

A half-century after 11 innings from Faf du Plessis, who scored 55 runs on the surface that has been described as the best for batting so far, gave South Africa good support.

Later JP Duminy shared stands with AB de Villiers and David Miller, who was given out lbw off Irfan on three. He reviewed successfully – the first time that has happened in the series to survive.

Duminy scored 64 runs while De Villiers and Miller made 34 runs each.

Mohammad was the most successful Pakistani bowler with his 3 wickets off 46 runs while Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Khan Afirdi dismissed two batsmen each.
