ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has categorically stated that Pakistan would not hold any covert talks either with India or Israel.

The minister was reacting to the tweet of PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal who sought clarification from the government over reports circulating on the social media that an Israeli aircraft allegedly visited Islamabad.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said neither Imran Khan was Nawaz Sharif, nor his cabinet had pseudo intellectuals.

The Minister said Pakistan would not have been facing the current situation, had the former rulers shown concerns and taken steps to address the problems.

He said that the opposition should not worry as Pakistan is today in safe hands.

Earlier in the day, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rebutted the claims about arrival of an Israeli aircraft at Islamabad airport.

A CAA spokesperson stated in categorical terms that no aircraft from Israel touched down at any airport in Pakistan. There is no truth in the rumors about arrival of an Israeli plane in Pakistan, he added.

This clarification came on the heels of a tweet by Fawad Chaudhry assailing PML-N stalwart Ahsan Iqbal who shared a media report about the alleged arrival of the aircraft on his verified twitter account seeking an explanation from the government.

Avi Scharf, editor of Israeli newspaper Haaretz, had tweeted that an Israeli aircraft had travelled from Tel Aviv to Islamabad.

He claimed that the flight made a brief stopover in Amman to create the impression that the flight actually took off from Amman not from Tel Aviv.
