Pakistan opts to field in Birmingham Test

BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first in the third test match at Birmingham’s Edgbaston stadium on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

Pakistan has made two changes to their side. Shan Masood has been replaced by Sami Aslam whereas Sohail Khan will replace Wahab Riaz.

England has also made a change to their side. Pacer Steven Finn is playing instead of injured Ben Stokes.

The four match test series is level at 1-1.

Pakistan’s tour to England started on a high as they beat the hosts at the historic Lords stadium by 75 runs. However, the hosts came back and won the second test at Manchester by a whooping 330 runs.

England XI: Alastair Cook (captain), Alex Hales, Joe Root, James Vince, Gary Ballance, Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Steven Finn.

Pakistan XI: Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed†, Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Yasir Shah and Sohail Khan.
