Pakistan has become one of the main participants of Textile industry’s globally renowned Heim Textile Exhibition. The participation of Pakistani textile exporters in the international exhibition will uplift the local textile industry.

Representative of Frankfurt and Director Haji Salahuddin, while talking to ARY News said that the four days Heim Textile Expo 2014 will start from eight January in Germany’s Frankfurt city. He further stated that 222 companies from Pakistan are participating in the exhibition which includes exporters, manufacturers, retailers, designers along with home textile and towel manufacturers.

He also revealed that in the Heim Tex Expo of 2013 around 2158 companies of 62 countries had participated, whereas, 66 thousand visitors from 129 countries visited the exhibition for trade and exports with the participant companies.

Haji Salahuddin said that a separate pavilion has been established by TDAP in the exhibition for Pakistan. TDAP is participating in the exhibition with 45 Pakistani textile companies. He also said all the stalls of Heim Textile Expo 2014 have already been booked.

He also expressed his high hopes that via this platform the local textile industry would be able to get more business for textile products and most importantly the export orders.

On the other hand, after attaining the GSP Plus rank in European U,nion Pakistan would be able to get duty free access to  27 European countries for more than 3500 local products but for this Pakistan has to abide 26 global conventions.

The Textile industry in Pakistan is the largest manufacturing industry in Pakistan. It has traditionally, after agriculture, been the only industry that has generated huge employment for both skilled and unskilled labor. The textile industry continues to be the second largest employment generating sector in Pakistan.  The local textile industry is dominated by Punjab.
