Pakistan Post issues commemorative stamps on Champions Trophy victory

LAHORE: Pakistan Post has issued commemorative postage stamps and souvenir sheet on Pakistan victory in the Champions Trophy in June.

There are three types of stamps which cost Rs10 each, while the souvenir sheets are priced at Rs50 each. Two stamps show the victorious cricket team holding the the trophy, while the third shows the trophy with the flags of the participating nations.

A unveiling ceremony was held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore attended by Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, coach Mickey Arthur and other officials.

Federal Minister for Postal Services Maulana Ameer Zaman unveiled the commemorative stamps.

Speaking on the occasion, the PCB chairman said that the cricket team is rising under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed, and in a short span has risen to win the Champions Trophy and become the number one Twenty20 team.

He congratulated the captain, coach and the entire cricket team for their spectacular performance.

Sarfaraz Ahmed said that the next target target in sight is the World Cup 2019 in England. He hoped that the team will win the coveted prize with the blessings of their fans.

Pakistan won the eight-nation International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy in June by thrashing India by 180 runs in the final at London.
