At his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that there was disconnect between what we are told by the Indian side and the ground reality.

The spokesman said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on the 30th of this month.

He said Pakistan stands for reforms in the United Nations with consensus of all member states but opposed to the addition of new permanent members to the Security Council.

Mr. Khalilullah said Pakistan and Afghanistan are discussing measures to keep the border peaceful.

He said Pakistan supports Afghan reconciliation process and hopes Afghan Taliban will renounce violence and return to the negotiating table.

The spokesman said Pakistan is committed to the goals of nuclear non-proliferation and wants to join Nuclear Supplies Group.

Responding a question, he said Pakistan condemns desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Israeli violence against peaceful worshippers.
