DUBAI: Pakistan and South Africa opening their two matches Twenty20 series in Dubai today, ARY News reports.
Pakistan bolstered by return of allrounders Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Malik hope to win the series against South Africa to climb to the top of the ladder. Pakistan presently ranked second from the top behind fellow South Asians Sri Lanka.
The series has been set to help Pakistan and South Africa in their preparations for the fifth edition of the World Twenty20 tournament scheduled to be open in Bangladesh in March next year.
Muhammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain, said his team, is eager to win both games.
Hafeez was speaking in Dubai. The second match of the series will also be played in Dubai on Friday.
