Pakistan, South Africa square off in first ODI today

CAPE TOWN: Pakistan will square off against South Africa in the first One Day International here on Sunday, ARY News reports.

 

Earlier, South Africa had clinched the ODI series 2-1 at United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan will be looking forward to defeat the Proteas at their own ground.

 

Misbah-ul-Haq will Captain the team whereas AB De Villiers will be leading the South African side.

 

The return of batsmen Jacques Kallis and Graeme Smith will make the Proteas a strong side to play against.

 

Both teams have played 68 times against each other in which South Africa has emerged victorious 41 times whereas Pakistan has won 21 matches. Pakistan has won only 8 encounters against the Proteas out of 26 matches in South Africa.

 

The Green Shirts will play an ODI against the Proteas at the Wanderers for the first time since 2007.
