Pakistan team returns home amid tight security

Strict security measures were adopted on Karachi and Lahore airports to prevent ‘rowdy’ crowd from creating any scene.

Captain Shahid Afridi came out of Quaid-e-Azam International Airport and went away in vehicle having national flag.

He was immediately provided security as soon he stepped out of the terminal building.

Afridi aside, other players who arrived home included Vice Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Khurram Manzoor, Sharjeel Khan and Muhammad Sami.

He also told media men in a terse statement that he may hold a press conference as he was in Karachi for couple of days.

Pakistan crashed out of continental championship after shock defeat at the hands of host Bangladesh. The team green also suffered humiliating drubbing at the hands of India. Pakistan has beaten minnow United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka in their league matches.

The team will depart to India for World T20 after security clearance by the Pakistan government. A delegation of security officials will leave for India to inspect measures taken by the Indian government at venues of Pakistan matches.
