Pakistan to clash against Sri Lanka in first ODI

SHARJAH: Pakistan and Sri Lanka will square off in the first One Day International (ODI) here on Wednesday, ARY News reports.

Pakistan and the Lankans will be playing their first ODI after 1.5 years. The conditions of the match do favor the Green Shirts but Sri Lankan side cannot be taken lightly when it comes to the 50 over format.

The t20 series was squared 1-1 after Sri Lanka came back strongly after losing to Pakistan in the first match. The Sri Lankan team not only thrilled their fans through out the Twenty 20 series by showing some outstanding fielding skills but Pakistani fans also appreciated the fielding of the Lankans.

The fans of the Pakistan Cricket Team have expressed their optimism that the Green Shirts will be starting the series in a winning fashion.

Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistani Captain, has said that the first six batsmen of the team play an important role when it comes to One Day Cricket and added that they have to play the fifty overs. Sri Lankan Captain Angelo Matthews has also stated that his side will be looking forward to clinch the ODI series.

The two teams have squared off against each other 33 times in which Pakistan won 20 encounters whereas Sri Lanka won 12 matches. Pakistan will be looking forward to maintain their form against the Sri Lankans.
