Pakistan, Turkey enjoy cordial relations: chief justice

ISLAMABAD: A Turkish delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kiran called on Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar in Islamabad on Friday.

On the occasion, Mian Saqib Nisar said both Pakistan and Turkey enjoyed cordial relations rooted in common culture, social values and faith.

The chief justice also briefed the delegation about judicial system of Pakistan.

Earlier this week, Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla said Turkey was a true and reliable friend of Pakistan.

“We cherish this exemplary friendship,” he said.

The deputy chairman also thanked Turkey for extending prompt and extensive assistance to Pakistan to deal with natural calamities such as the October 8, 2005, earthquake and the 2010 floods. He appreciated Turkey’s steadfast support for Pakistan at Financial Action Task Force. He extended Speaker Binali Yidirim a cordial invitation to visit Pakistan.
