According to a press release by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif commended the morale and spirit of the troops during his visit to Datta Khel area in North Waziristan.

In his address to the soldiers, the army chief said that Pakistani nation and its troops have paid a huge price for eliminating terrorists and restoring peace in the country and the sacrifices will not go in vain. He went on to say that the military operations against terrorists of all hue and colour will continue.

Pakistan will not allow anyone to use its soil against Afghanistan and directed all commanders, intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies to take concrete measures against violators, he said.

“COAS said that peace and stability along Pak-Afghan border remains our priority; towards which we will commit all our efforts. He said border management and dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees are important enablers for lasting peace,” ISPR stated.

ISPR added, “Our efforts for peace in Afghanistan have been acknowledged. While we are committed to facilitate the reconciliation process with sincerity, commitment and resolve, we expect non-use of Afghanistan territory against Pakistan”.
