DOHA: Pakistan Women defeated Ireland Women on Monday in the group match of PCB Qatar Women's 20-over Tri-Series at West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha, ARY News reported.
Ireland winning the toss put Pakistan in to bat first; Javeria Khan (12) was the first to got dismiss in the fifth over but Nain Abidi and Sidra Ameen rebuild the inning team with the stand of 41 runs.
Sidra fell (18) at the total score of 70 in the 14th over while Abidi's stay till the end with her 58-ball 56 propelled Pakistan to a competitive 132.
Ireland Women’s top order jolted early leaving their team at 16-3, Isobel Joyce and Elena Tice put them back on track with a stand of 46 but Pakistan's skipper Nida Dar broken the partnership in13th over with the wicket of Isobel Joyce.
Ireland then needed another 70 from 47 deliveries. But Dar struck again and left them at a precarious 78 for 5 with an equation of 55 required from 30.
Although Tice stayed till the end but did not able to pace up the inning with the required run rate and remained short of 21 runs, ending the inning at 111 for 5.
The Ireland Women fell to the bottom of the table with their two consecutive losses on Monday.
Two matches will be played on January 22(Wednesday) between Ireland Women vs South Africa and Pakistan Women vs South Africa Women.
