Introducing the exhibition, Dr Veeda Ahmed said ‘Echoes of Contemplation’ is a contemporary body of work that draws from the knowledge of historical writings, techniques, materials and the working practices of the old miniature painters.

“This way of painting has been absorbed in my work over many years of practice and learning with the remaining masters of this ancient craft,” she said.

“In order to keep this tradition alive it is crucial to continue to use these techniques and also to share the knowledge with the coming generation of artists.
