Pakistani community playing key role in developing UK: commissioner

LONDON: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Syed Ibne Abbas has said that Pakistani community is playing a key role in developing the country.

Abbas made the statement as he was addressing an Independence Day ceremony organized by Pakistan High Commission in United Kingdom.

He added that Pakistani history and culture will also be introduced in the UK. “We will celebrate Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day in the United Kingdom with great fervour,” Abbas said.

Pakistan’s high commissioner said that Pakistan is facing several challenges and is playing its role in the war against terrorism.

“Pakistan wants peace in the region. Operation Zarb-e-Azb is taking place successfully against terrorists in the country,” Abbas added.
