Pakistani fans smash TV sets after World T20 loss against India

KARACHI: Wild sentiments after having witnessed your team’s drubbing to your arch-rivals is nothing new in Pakistan and India, but it demonstrates how deep emotions are attached to the game of cricket.

That’s exactly what happened unfortunately in Pakistan when some enthusiastic Pakistani fans couldn’t simply stand defeat of Pakistan and vent their frustration by smashing TV sets.

Hundreds of people had arranged gatherings to watch Pakistan-India World T20 match on big screens, but the TV sets couldn’t remain big for more than three hours of the match.

In their opening match of Asia Cup 2016, Pakistan were bowled out for 83 in the first innings. Despite some early hiccups, India chased out the target in 15.3 overs, courtesy Virat Kohli’s brilliant 49-run-knock under pressure.
