KARACHI: A Pakistani tea seller has used Indian pilot Abhinandan’s picture on banner of his stall for advertisement with a catchy line, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Aesi chai k dushman ko bhi dost banaye (Such a tea that makes even an enemy a friend),” reads the punch line.

Abhinandan was captured here after his fighter jet was shot down in Azad Jammu and Kashmir upon violation of the Line of Control (LoC). The Pakistani armed forces treated him well and during a video statement the pilot was seen taking sips from a teacup. Social media trollers had made hell fun of one sentence from his statement “The tea is fantastic”.

The tea seller has used a photo of the pilot from the same video in which he is taking tea.

Pakistan had released Abhinandan as a gesture of peace, in order to de-escalate the soaring tensions with New Delhi.

On February 27, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) after striking down two Indian fighter jets had arrested one pilot, who ejected himself after being hit in the airspace of Pakistan in Azad Jammu and Kashmir — something that came as an unexpected setback for India.

Hours after shooting down the IAF jets, Pakistan military had released a video statement of the captured Indian pilot.

The situation between the two neighbouring countries had turned hostile in a tit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 Indian troops in occupied Kashmir on Feb 14.
