Terrorism can only be tackled through Parliament, says Rabbani
PPP Senator Raza Rabbani speaking at the floor of the Senate, chaired by Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari on Tuesday, said that the Parliament was not taken into confidence regarding the measures taken to curb terrorism after Peshawar tragedy.
He said that the route of the fight against terrorism in Pakistan passes through the Parliament.
Aitzaz Ahsan of PPP said that the PPP cooperating with the federal government in its fight against terrorism.
“Seventeen committees have been formed which are mostly being led by federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan”, Ahsan said.
He added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Interior Minister do not attend the sessions of the Parliament houses.
“Their absence will create tensions in the Parliament”, the PPP senator said.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Senator Tahir Mashhadi accused the federal government that it has sidelined the Parliament.
