ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence Khwaja Asif said Parliament was a supreme institution and a vital pillar of democracy, ARY News reports.
Speaking in the National Assembly, the minister said all institutions defend their authority and its people. “An impression shouldn’t be conveyed that Parliament is a disrespected institution,” he told the House.
He went on to say that whenever a coup took place, people within our ranks backed such illegal moves. Mr. Asif said there should be some limits in verbal war between the government and the opposition.
