Parliament to pass resolution for protection of democracy

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the parliamentary party leaders chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday vowed to protect the parliament and democracy in the country, ARY News reported.

The meeting decided to move a resolution in the joint session of the parliament for protection of the democracy in Pakistan.

Moreover, Senator Shahi Syed of Awami National Party (ANP) speaking at the floor of the parliament session said the opposition wants to save the democratic political system in the country and not the prime minister.

The ANP Senator said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif represents the mandate of the people of Pakistan.
