Parliamentary parties pledge no compromise on democracy, constitution

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader, Syed Khursheed Shah chaired a meeting of the opposition and government coalition parties on Monday, during which it was pledged that no compromise shall be made on the parliament, constitution and democracy, ARY News reported.

Opposition Leader and senior member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Khursheed Shah presided the meeting of opposition and government coalition parties in the parliament. The meeting resolved that if the government forms a negotiations committee, then all the parliamentary parties are ready to play their role in this regard.

The participants of the meeting suggested that a negotiations committee comprising of members of opposition parties should be formed, instead of a team by the government.

Political leaders at the meeting said that the matter of resignation of the Prime Minister could be discussed after the formations of a negotiations team.

Moreover, the meeting was attended by Aitzaz Ahsan, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Rasheed Godial, Hasil Bizenjo, Tariqullah Khan and several others.
