KARACHI: More than 226 employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) possess bogus or fake educational certificates. These employees include captains, managers and group 4 and 5 workers – ARY News reports.
According to details, Chairman PIA and Secretary Aviation Muhammad Ali Gardezi chaired the Board of Directors meeting on Thursday.
During the meeting it was told that educational certificates of more than 16000 PIA employees were sent to different universities for verification, however some 4000 certificates could be verified in the first phase. Out of which 226 particulars turned out to be forged.
Board of Directors has decided to take a stern action against these employees, whereas passing the management course has also been declared a must for the PIA employees to get themselves promoted to higher ranks.
Moreover, the Directors also approved budget of the national airliner for the next 3 months.
