KARACHI: The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement leader Haider Abbas Rizvi on Friday said the team of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) did not arrive at the residence of Altaf Hussain, rather it made it to London Secretariat, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference, Rizvi said the MQM chief fulfilled all formalities for getting his National Identity Card.

Responding to a question of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, the MQM leader said Altaf Hussain had submitted application for NIC for the fourth time.

He said the statement of Nisar was contrary to facts.

Earlier in a media talk, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said the matter of issuance of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to MQM chief Altaf Hussain had been made an issue.

Nisar said government had no advantage if Altaf was denied his passport and NICOP.“Do not blame us if Altaf Hussain did not apply for passport in last 22 years,” said Nisar.

He said the issue had been made more complicated. He said MQM chief must give some time and, “We will send team another time to his place in London for data collection.”
