Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri was greeted ecstatically by his party’s leaders and workers when his aircraft landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
On the other hand, Punjab Government, in a letter, had advised the cleric to not travel in a procession.
The provincial government had advised Qadri to travel in a bullet-proof vehicle and wear a protective jacket due to a threat to the PAT chief’s life. They had also advised the party to not to allow any stranger to come close to Qadri’s vehicle at any cost.
