PAT calls emergency meeting to announce future strategy

KARACHI: : Tahir-ul-Qadri led Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has called an emergency meeting of its ally parties to announce future strategy after the harassment and killing of party workers by Punjab Police, ARY News reported.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q).

PAT leader Raheeq Abbasi while talking to media said that police harassed a party worker caravan in Sadhoki and tortured men and women alike. Scores were injured while a woman lost life.

Abbasi maintained that police even did not let any rescue reach the injured, even PAT ambulances were taken over by police.

PAT leader expressed fear that police can displace dead bodies and injured workers while lamenting that there is no precedent in world politics of such brutality and apathy by government.
